What buyers are saying
This generator came complete and beautifully packaged with tools & clear instructions. Assembly was simple enough. That's the good. Now the bad; this generator is NOT suitable for a supplement to a solar/batter system \"off the grid inch system. The 12 volt charging side won't charge gel type solar storage batteries as the breaker opens every 15-30 seconds as long as you're trying to charge them. The DuroMax tech said to use one of the 110V outlets & a trickle charger as a work-around. I don't want a jury-rig. I want a working system. The problem with that is that you lose the use of an outlet to do what the 12V circuit SHOULD do.. There's also the issue that a trickle charger doesnt provide enough amperage to recharge the batteries after a night's usage. One would need a full-on battery charger to bring a bank of storage batteries back up to full charge. This is a poorly thought out feature on what seems to be an otherwise good generator. If I can't get past this I'll have to return mine to. Wal-Mart.
